Ribate and the 5S System

Ribate, as expert implementer of the 5S System, is already member of the Club 5S of Euskalit, of which companies such as Vicrila, ITP, Maier and Fagor are also members.

The aim of the Club 5S of Euskalit is as follows: "Promote the mutual exchange of experiences among its members in order to foster the application and development of the 5S as a methodology to improve productivity and jobs."

Any public or private organisation in the Basque Community can be a member of the Club 5S, as well as the business units of large organisations that develop their activities in the Basque Country.

What are the 5S?
The 5S are the initials of the five Japanese words on which the methodology is based: SEIRI - TIDINESS; SEITON - ORDERLINESS; SEISO - CLEANLINESS; SEIKETSU - STANDARDISATION; SHITSUKE - DISCIPLINE

It consists of working on a permanent basis in accordance with the established rules.

The Five Steps form an integrated whole and are tackled one after the other in succession.

Their application leads to a better use of resources, reducing breakdowns, stocks, transport, tool change times, etc. In order to introduce this methodology, it is necessary to train and motivate people, who will improve their workplace, achieve higher levels of cooperation and work better in a team.
