april 2, 2008

 Ribate has developed the project using a novel simulation programme.
 This innovating system allows the user to make changes, perform tests more easily, save time and reduce costs, among other advantages.

Ribate, has collaborated with Vicrila to reduce almost 20% of its internal transport costs.

Ribate, which belongs to the Grupo Ormazabal, is specialised in the development of projects to improve logistics and production processes, and has analysed the daily work of Vicrila using a simulation, in other words, the company has reproduced Vicrila's working system in a virtual model.

This innovating system allows users to make changes and perform tests more easily, save time and reduce costs, optimise their use of resources and to make savings and investments, among other advantages.

Following the simulation, Ribate drew up a series of improvement proposals which will allow Vicrila, a company specialised in the production of glazing and glassware to make reductions in their internal transport costs.

Ribate has provided Vicrila with its experience in the development of improvement projects in logistics and productive processes, adapted to the specific characteristics of the latter's production process: 365 days a year of continuous production, 5-shift working, 8 production lines, 32 manual and automatic packaging stations, the production of 600 pallets/day, warehouses with a capacity of up to 38,200 pallets (saturation>90%), and more than 500 references of packaged end products.

Vicrila belongs to the ARC INTERNATIONAL Group, world leader in the manufacture of tableware. The group has factories in France, USA, Italy, China, the Arab Emirates and Spain and has sales offices in more than 160 countries. The company produces 6 million items every day.
